PPS Opens New Grimsby Site

17/09/2015

PPS has opened a new, larger wash site in Grimsby, UK.

The company offers the delivery, collection, asset tracking, washing, rental and repair of returnable equipment, including fish boxes. With the opening of the new site, PPS will be expanding its services even further.

At 68,000sqft the new premises are significantly larger than PPS’s former site and will offer numerous opportunities for PPS to increase capacity and employee numbers.

PPS has invested £1.5 million in the purchase and refurbishment of the site. Before the purchase the site had become run down and unusable and remained empty for almost a decade.

As an investment in the development of PPS as a growing business and employer in the region, North East Lincolnshire Council provided a grant of £300,000 towards the purchase.

PPS has had a presence in Grimsby for more than 27 years initially working with the busy Grimsby fish auction market providing the local fishing industry, and Humber fish auction markets with rented plastic boxes to pack and transport fresh fish.

David Peggie, chief executive of PPS, said, “We’re delighted to be opening our new site and moving ahead with our plans for the growth of the business. We’re proud to have been a part of Grimsby for almost three decades and our new site will bring us even more opportunities to expand our services and work with new customers.

“PPS has grown rapidly over the past 13 years and the significant expansion of our site in Grimsby is the next step in our plan to bring an all-encompassing, top quality service to those looking for re-usable packaging.”
