PPS Boosts Career Opportunities For Women Through New Partnership

08/03/2021

PPS boosts career opportunities for women through new partnership

Women working at PPS are to gain access to an industry-leading suite of career development tools and mentoring opportunities thanks to a new strategic partnership with Meat Business Women, the female-led group that champions women in the global meat industry.

As a sponsor and strategic partner, PPS will get priority access to Meat Business Women’s programme of events, networking opportunities and mentorship schemes. It will also provide expertise and input into the group’s strategic direction and support its wider mission of raising the profile of women in the meat industry.

Joanne Lee, Group Managing Director at PPS, says: “The meat industry is an important sector for PPS, and one in which we have many strong relationships. Our strategic partnership with Meat Business Women provides an invaluable opportunity to help address the under-representation of women in the industry, which is something we’re very proud to be apart of. By continuing to develop our female workforce at PPS whilst supporting Meat Business Women we hope to raise the profile of women within the meat industry and create pathways for others.

Laura Ryan, chair of Meat Business Women, says: “We are delighted to welcome PPS as one of our strategic partners and look forward to working even more closely with its brilliant team. We know from speaking to hundreds of women in the global meat industry that networking and mentoring can make a huge difference to women’s career paths. It’s fantastic that PPS is investing proactively in the development of female talent and giving women throughout the business the tools they need to succeed.”

Earlier this year, a report commissioned by Meat Business Women revealed that women make up just 36% of the meat industry’s global workforce and hold just 5% of chief executive roles. Meat Business Women is changing this by raising the profile of women in the global meat industry and connecting female talent through networking and mentoring opportunities as well as conferences and awards.
